VICTORY IN JESUS

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1Corinthians 15:57

Every day, in every way, Jesus gives us the victory! His strength is all we need each day, and His victory is assured. No matter what we go through, He is more than able to sustain us. We don’t have to rely on ourselves because He is there for us. David recognized his helplessness apart from God and recognized that it is God Who gives us the victory. “You are my King and my God, Who, decrees victories for Jacob. Through You we push back our enemies; through Your Name we trample our foes. I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but You give us victory over our enemies, You, put our adversaries to shame. In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise Your Name forever.” (Psalm 44:4-8). How comforting to know that we don’t have to live this life alone. Paul says, “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2Cor. 12:9-10). In our weakness, He brings the victory because He is God! David also says, “Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. With God we will gain the victory…” (Psalm 60:12). Remember nothing is too hard to handle if we let God be God and let Him bring the victory!

came from glory,

How He gave His life on Calvary, To save

a wretch like me.

I heard about His groaning, of His

precious blood’s atoning,

Then I repented of my sins and won

the victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever.

He sought me and He bought me with His

redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him and all my

love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory beneath

the cleansing flood.”
